A CRITIQUE OF DRESS CODE STANDARDS IN WORKING AMERICA.
An investigation and critique of the arbitrary rules and codes that we, as a society, tend to follow and/or enforce as relating to and dress practice in working America. It is important to understand that it is NOT the written dress codes that are problematic, but rather the social codes present in the day to day for many working Americans. This thesis investigation with focus on two areas of dress that became evidently problematic following interviews with 103 anonymous participants. The participants volunteered at random and range in areas including age, gender, geographic location religion, profession, etc.
